Black Veil Brides
Founded in 2006, Black Veil Brides released two EPs before being recognized and releasing their debut album. From their start in Cincinnatti, Ohio, the band has gone through several changes in membership. The current band members include Jake Pitts, Ashley Purdy, Jinxx, Christian Coma, with Andy Biersack (also known as Andy Six) as the only remaining band member.
With the band members in almost constant change, the band's music style and genre has also been evolving and being better defined. Unlike other bands which have tried to strive to be defined along a single genre, Black Veil Brides have had a hard time trying to educate their followers and the critics as to their type of song. They were earlier seen as an emo band, as well as a metalcore band. Their music has been described as "cathartic metalcore/screamo with a dark, gothic image." But their subsequent music and songs have them moving towards glam metal and heavy metal.
They released "Sex & Hollywood" EP in 2007, and "Never Give In" in 2008. In 2011, they released "Set the World on Fire" in 2011. They recently released "wretched and Divine: the Story of the Wild Ones", which they describe as a conceptual punk rock opera.
