Dallas, one of the most populated cities within the State of Texas as well as within the United States, is home to one of the largest metropolitan areas in the United States, the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Being a large and thriving city, Dallas is considered as one of the largest economic centers in the area. For this reason, Dallas has also become a center for transportation, commerce, trade, technology and entertainment. Many local and foreign tourists alike have visited this thriving and booming city to get a taste of local culture, a sense of history and entertainment.
One of the most popular places to watch an event is known as the American Airlines Center which was first opened to the public in 2001. The ribbon cutting ceremony for this venue was so great that it was even dubbed as the largest one by the Guinness Book of Records. Located within the area of the Victory Park near the downtown area of Dallas, this center is a multi-purpose arena and essentially hosts local and foreign concerts as well as other large events. The American Airlines Center is also home to the Dallas Stars of the NHL and the Dallas Mavericks of the NBA.
Another famous events place within Dallas is the Music Hall at Fair Park, which was opened to the public on the 10th of October 1925. This performance arts facility can approximately accommodate 3,420 seats and was built in the style of Spanish Baroque with hints of architectural styles from the Moors. The building contains a number of 6 towers which are capped with arcade porches and cast domes which reveals a view of Fair Park. Air conditioning was first introduced to the facility in 1954, was remodeled by 1972 to add a restaurant and an extended lobby and remodeled again in 1999. Due to its large size, the music hall has been host to a variety of musical touring companies and other large events and is home to the Dallas Summer Musicals.
For local and international concerts, many of these take place at the Palladium Ballroom, located on South Lamar and nearby the Dallas Convention Center. As of present, the Palladium Ballroom is operated and managed by AEG Live which dedicates itself to providing the audience with live and contemporary music performances as well as variety programming touring and other forms of multimedia productions. Over the years, the Palladium Ballroom has played host to a variety of shows and live concerts.
