St. Louis, an independent city located within the State of Missouri, is considered to be the second largest city within the state. The presence of the performing arts and music is also strong in the city due to its major contributions to a variety of music styles such as ragtime, jazz and the blues. St. Louis is also home to the oldest Symphony Orchestra within the country, the St. Louis Symphony. One of the famous venue places within the city is called the Fox Theatre, also referred to as the Fabulous Fox. This movie palace is located near the Saint Louis University within the midtown area of the city. Built in 1929, it was initially constructed to feature films produced by the Fox Film Corporation. In the beginning, the Fox Theatre was built to accommodate and approximate of 5,060 people. Through the years, upon its renovation, it now is able to accommodate about 4,278 people and features an addition 234 seating in the private Fox Club.

The Scottrade Center, located within the downtown area of St. Louis, opened to the public in 1994 and was formerly known as the Savvis Center and the Kiel Center. This arena is able to accommodate an approximate of 19,150 spectators and is the present home of the National Hockey League’s St. Louis Blues. This arena was built not only to accommodate hockey games but to host a variety of other events such as many sports events, family shows, concerts and even entertaining wrestling matches. It is able to accommodate about 175 events every year.

The Busch Stadium, also called the Busch Stadium III or the New Busch Stadium, is also located within the city of St. Louis. This stadium features 61 luxury suites, 3,706 club seats and accommodate an approximate of 43,975 spectators. It is also the present home of the Major League Baseball’s St. Louis Cardinals. Aside from hosting a variety of baseball games, the Busch Stadium has also played host to a number of live performances from artists which have included the Dave Matthews Band and the Dixie Chicks to name a few.
