Anaheim is a well-known city in California and home to the famous Disneyland Resort. This city has 336,265 registered residents as of the 2010 census making the city the 10th most populous city in California. The city of Anaheim has strong tourism and several big company names have established their bases here.
Anaheim has two private universities. Being part of Orange County, Anaheim is highly modernized and urbanized and the arts and culture is also highly developed.
The music scene in Anaheim is more on the modern side. Although the city is not mainly known for its music, it has phenomenal theme parks and hotels providing music entertainment to the people and to the tourists who visit the city. This city is home to the biggest convention center on the West Coast - the Anaheim Convention Center.
The city of Anaheim is also the home of the Big A or the Angel Stadium. This modernized style ball park is the home stadium of the Los Angels of Anaheim. This venue is not only utilized for sporting events, but for other events such as musical performances and concerts. This ball park can accommodate 65,000 spectators and occasionally hosts music and live concerts throughout the year.
Another great music venue is the Honda Center, which is formerly known as the Arrowhead Pond. This Center is an enclosed arena and is the home stadium for the Anaheim Ducks (Anaheim's hockey team). This venue can accommodate more than 18,300 spectators for end stage concerts, 18,900 seats for the center stage concerts and 8,400 for theatre. The Center, which is colloquially known as the Pond or the “Ponda”, is owned by the city government of Anaheim.
This Center was opened to the public in 1993. Barbra Streisand, No Doubt, Mariah Carey, Gwen Stefani, Jonas Brothers, Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters, Rammstein are just some of the music artists and groups that have performed at the Ponda.
The Grove of Anaheim, which is formerly known as the Sun Theatre, is a venue primarily serving as the place for indoor musical events. This venue can accommodate 1,700 spectators during a concert. This venue is less than two miles from the Disneyland Resort and is located northwest of the Angel Stadium. Bob Dylan, Julio Iglesias, BB King, George Lopez, Jamie Foxx and Merle Haggard are some of the music artists who have performed in this venue.
