One of the places to visit to get some entertainment in the city of Syracuse is the Carrier Dome. This sports stadium is conveniently found within the campus grounds of Syracuse University and can accommodate an approximate of 49,262 people. At present, it houses several sports teams such as the lacrosse, basketball and football teams of the Syracuse Orange. It has also played host to a variety of sports games such as the annual New York State Field Band Conference and high school state football championships. Asides from hosting sports events, the Carrier Dome is also known to showcase a variety of live performances and concerts.

The War Memorial at Oncenter, formerly called the Onondaga War Memorial is located within the Oncenter Complex in the downtown area of Syracuse. This multi-purpose arena can accommodate about 6,159 spectators and was designed by Edgarton and Edgarton. In 1988, it was finally included in the list of National Register of Historic Places. The War Memorial at Oncenter is presently home to a variety of sports teams such as the Syracuse Silver Knights of the Major Indoor Soccer League and the Ice Hockey Team, the Syracuse Crunch. In addition to being a regular sports venue, this arena is also known as a regular concert venue within the area.

Formerly called the Loew’s State Theater, the Landmark Theatre is located along South Salina Street in Syracuse. This historical theater was designed by Thomas W. Lamb and was made open to the public in 1928. In the beginning, the theater showcased Vaudeville acts and films. During the 1970’s the theater experienced a decline and eventually closed. Eventually, the Landmark Theater was renovated and reopened. Nowadays, the theater is a regular host of live performances and concerts and is also available for private celebrations.
