Bill Maher was born William Maher Jr. on the 20th of January 1956 in New York City to William Maher Sr. and Julie Berman. He majored in English and University at Cornell University and graduated in 1978. A person of many talents, he is famous for being an actor, author, political commentator, host as well as his skills as a stand-up comedian.

Bill Maher is essentially known for his unapologetic acts on political satire as well as his views on politics, religion and other current social occurrences. In the years to come, he had also made guest appearances in various television shows which include Murder She Wrote and Max Headroom as well as some movie features.

From 1993 to 2002, Maher became the host of the late night talk show “Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher”. With this show, he gained a lot of nominations and won on several occasions. In 2002, the show was cancelled.

In 2003, Bill Maher had a new show called Real Time with Bill Maher. As co-writer and co-producer, he became the host of this weekly show which was shown on the famous cable network HBO. In 2010, Bill Maher received his star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In July 2011, it had been announced by HBO that Real Time with Bill Maher will be renewed for another season.
