Wicked is a worldwide Broadway hit by composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz that was first released in 2003. The musical is an adaptation of the Gregory Maguire’s novel entitled Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, which is a parallel novel of the classic story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum that was told in a different perspective. The story revolves around the unusual friendship of the Wicked Witch of the West, Elphaba and the Good Witch of the North, Glinda. The musical was produced by Universal Pictures premiered at the Gershwin Theatre in October 2003. The original cast includes Idina Menzel,Kristin Chenoweth and Joel Grey. Since its release, it has received 3 Tony Awards, 6 Drama Desk Awards and a Grammy Award.

In October 2016, Wicked celebrated its 13th year anniversary making it one of the longest running Broadway show ever.
