Miami Dolphins Biography:
The Miami Dolphins are a professional American Football team based at the heart of Miami’s metropolitan setting. They are a part of the National Football League’s (NFL) Eastern Division. The team plays their home games at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens. Their headquarters is located in Davie, Florida.
Danny Thomas, a famous comedian and Joe Robbie, a politician were the two people who founded the Miami Dolphins. They were also the ones responsible for bringing the team into the American Football League in 1966. During this time, Miami has never had a Football team to get this far into the industry.
It was in 1972 when the team first made its appearance at the Super Bowl in Super Bowl VI but ended up losing to the Dallas Cowboys with a shameful score of 24-3. But in 1972, the team redeemed themselves by completing a perfect NFL season winning all of its 14 regular season games. Thus, the team became the first ever NFL team to enjoy such an accomplishment.
The Miami Dolphins started their journey in football with coach Don Shula, the most successful coach in the history of the team. Shula served for 26 long seasons as their head coach. Some Hall of Famers played for the team in the 1970s namely quarterback Bob Griese, fullback Larry Csonka, and linebacker Nick Buoniconti.
Just this January, the Miami Dolphins hired Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin to serve as this year’s coach. Philbin serves as the tenth coach in the history of Miami Dolphins from the time of its inception. The Miami Dolphins also undergoes rigorous training in time for their every game. They used to hold such training in their stadium, the Orange Bowl in Miami where they also hold their home games but later on moved to Sun Life Stadium just two years ago.
As of late, the Miami Dolphins are still active playing football and competing against other American football teams around the globe. They are preparing for another competitive season making sure that they win the championship recognition very soon.
