Mary Poppins is one of the most talked about films of the mid 1900s. The film starred Julie Andrews, a true artist who is earned the respect and recognition of a number of award giving bodies around the globe for her ability to portray characters with a soul as well as sing her heart out. Because the film had garnered respect and fondness among viewers, it is not surprising that the Broadway adaptation of Mary Poppins became a big hit as well. The production is now running on its fifth year and is still going strong.

Everyone's Favorite Nanny Mary Poppins is a story about a young woman who has the ability to not only live life to the fullest but also to enjoy moments while it lasts. Mary takes care of two beautiful children who are equally thrilled and impressed with all of her abilities. Apart from the well-loved tunes, (who can forget Supercalifragelisticexpialidocious?), two scenes have always served as a crowd favorite.

The first is when Mary Poppins was giving a spoonful of sugar to the children because they were sick and they needed medication. Likely, the children’s impression of the medicine is that it’s bitter. Thus, Poppins entertained the kids by singing and while at it, showed them a never ending technique of getting things out of her bag. At one point, Mary Poppins was already getting huge things from her bag which was a really funny and absurd part. The other heartwarming scene is when the children, together with Mary Poppins and their dad, went out around the village while singing songs and jumping from one house to house.

Up to this present time, it still seems that there is no competition when people talk about Mary Poppins. Indeed, it is a one of a kind of story and production that the whole family will surely enjoy. Watching it again and again wouldn’t really be a problem because it’s a different experience every single time.
