The Chicago Bears are the professional American football team from the North Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League that is based in Chicago, Illinois. Since its foundation in 1919, the Chicago Bears has already won nine NFL Championships of which eight are pre-merger and one Super Bowl. As of the present, they hold the NFL record for the most number of enshrinees in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. There are 27 members of the enshrinees from Chicago Bears and a total of thirteen retired jersey numbers. Aside from that, they also hold the record of overall victories among the other NFL franchise. In November 18, 2010, they recorded the 700th win of the team.

The original location of the club was in Decatur, Illinois. It was only in 1921 that they moved to Chicago. Together with the Arizona Cardinals, the Chicago Bears is among the only remaining team since the foundation of the NFL. Upon its relocation in Chicago, the team was initially named as Chicago Staleys that was eventually changed by Halas to Chicago Bears. During their early years, the Bears dominated the league and were followed by the Cardinals. They won the NFL Championship in 1921 and became a team to watch for a decade. In 1924, they defeated the Cleveland Bulldogs and took a picture with “World’s Champions” written. Unfortunately, that game was not counted in the standing and they only placed 2nd during that season. Another initial rivalry of the team was the Green Bay Packers. The competition among these two teams occurs up until the present. The team experienced a decline in their success and performance during the 1950s. In 1963, the team made a comeback and grabbed their 8th NFL Championship. Throughout the 1980s, the Chicago Bears still remained competitive although they failed to make it to Super Bowl under Mike Ditka.
