The Boston Bruins is the professional ice hockey team in the National Hockey League from the Northeast Division of the Eastern Conference based in Boston, Massachusetts. The home arena of the Bruins since 1995 is in TD Garden. Prior to that, the team is in Boston Garden where they played their home games since 1928. The team was founded in 1924 and is currently the third oldest team in the league. Boston Bruins was formed when business tycoon Charles Adams from Boston convinced the National Hockey League to expand in the United States. After which, he persuaded the NHL to give him a franchise for Boston. It is also one of the original first six teams in the National Hockey League. Among the six are the Detroit Red Wings, Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, Chicago Blackhawks and the New York Rangers.

The color of the team is black, gold and white. In the history of its franchise, the Boston Bruins already have a total of six Stanley Cup Championships which is fifth in the most of all time. Among the NHL teams, the Boston Bruins ranks second in the most number of wins after the Red Wings with a total of 11 Stanley Cup Championships. The Bruins have won the Stanley Cup in 1928, 1938, 1940, 1969, and 1971. Finally after a long drought, the Bruins were able to reclaim the Stanley Cup in 2010 by defeating the Vancouver Canucks. During their face off, the Bruins made a new record with the quickest four goals achieved in a playoff series game during their game 6. They faced the Canucks in their first game 7 in the Stanley Cup and secured the championship after breaking the 39 years drought. During the 2012 season, the Bruins fought against the Washington Capitals. Unfortunately, the Bruins fell short and the Capitals won the match during face off.
