The Postal Service is an known for their electronic music and band members are: vocalist Ben Gibbard (from Death Cab for Cutie) and producer Jimmy Tamborello (from Dntel and Headset) and Jenny Lewis (from Rilo Kiley) on background keyboards and vocals.
The name Postal Service was chosen because of the method in the band producing songs. Tamborello wrote and performed instrumental tracks and he would send them to Gibbard, who edited the song to his liking - then he'd send them back to Tamborello through the United States Postal Service! The female member of the band, Jenny Lewis, was a neighbor of Tamborello and she did part-time vocals for the band and later on she became a full time member of this interesting group.
