When we talk about Santana we are referring to a band formed by the guitar legend Carlos Santana. The band was formed on the late 60’s and it was in the year 1969 when the members and the genre of the band became known to the public when they had their rendition of the song “Soul Sacrifice” at the Woodstock Festival where there was a staggering number of audience. This band started well since their very first produced album became a big hit in the music industry market. With this, they followed up their release with two another great albums called Abraxas and Santana III.

The band’s original taste was Latin influence but due to the change of time and the influences of guru Sri Chimnoy, there was a shifting in the genre of their music which eventually led to more esoteric music and it became their platform for many years. Despite the fact that there were changes in their music, the band never failed to include in their records and performances the adaptation of Latin influence. Because of the expertise of the members of this group in playing instruments, they walked their path to several awards such as the Grammy Awards and Latin Grammy Awards. The band has garnered a total of eight Grammy Awards and three Latin Grammy Awards aside from the individual awards received by the leader of the group Carlos.

The thing that distinguishes Santana from other rock bands is its taste of classical Latin music and combined with other modern genres. Santana did a lot of recording projects with other famous artists that topped the charts. This includes Alex Band with the song “Why Don’t You and I,” Michell Branch with “The Game of Love” and Matchbox Twenty’s Rob Thomas with the famous “Smooth.”

Though there is a taste of Latin flavor in the menu of the band, they are bound to become successful since they have a distinct style in playing. The blues guitar riffs along with other classical styles are what make it more exciting to listen to their songs.
